The club is very open to new players and we like having the opportunity to coach as many kids as we can. We encourage boys and girls from age 6 upwards to come and try the sport. The Under 10s team is coached and managed by Danny Stubley and Dave Chapman.
Under 10’s training sessions are as follows:
- 7:00pm – 9:00pm Friday at Bradford Girls Grammar School
Training is informal and friendly, and we will go ahead in most weathers (as long as it is safe).
How to get involved
Please feel free to come along between 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm on a Friday evening for a free taster session. You will need shin pads, gum shield and a stick, but don’t worry if you don’t have them, we have spares available. You will also need warm clothing and a drink.
Successes in Previous Seasons
The season was quite a disjointed one and the weather took its toll on the U10 fixtures. However, we did manage to play and when we did, the quality of the hockey was excellent. Considering that we had a very young side and we had quite a few debutants, we held our own against much older players and we managed to surprise a few opposition coaches with the quality of our play. We were one of the few teams to have a dedicated keeper, our defence was solid, the midfield had plenty of energy and skills and our forwards held the ball up well and showed great enthusiasm.
There will be a core of the team playing U10s for the next couple of years, and we look forward to next season.
A wholly new U10 team was formed in September 2016, beginning life in the bottom division of the Yorkshire Youth League. Over the season, the group grew in confidence and ability and began to play well as a team. The final tournament saw the team gain a second promotion of the year, finishing the season in Division 3. A great accomplishment for the boys and girls involved, some of them as young as seven.
