Many of you will have picked on our recent sad news that Phil Thomas, a huge contributor and great servant to hockey at BHC and across Yorkshire, passed away earlier this week of myeloma, a form of blood cancer. Phil had been part of Bradford HC since 1969 as a player, captain, coach, welfare officer and fixture secretary. He was a pioneer of youth hockey here at Bradford and a driving force behind the creation of the Yorkshire Youth Hockey League in the early 1990s. His skill, dedication and enthusiasm for the game has benefitted many generations of young people over the years, and he was the the first entrant into the BHC Hall of Fame at our recent 125th Anniversary celebrations. He will be fondly remembered and hugely missed. We will post details of services for Phil when they are to hand.
