Bradford Hockey Club currently has three men’s teams and one ladies team. We are very open to new players and encourage people to try the sport even though they may be beginners. To find further information about each team click on the links below and help support and hopefully become part of the club!
Training varies depending on which team you are selected for as different teams train on different days to suit the level of skill each team has:
- 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm Tuesday – General senior and ladies training
- 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm Wednesday – High Performance training
How to get involved
Please feel free to come along to Bradford Girls’ Grammar School between 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm on a Tuesday evening for a free taster session. You will need shin pads, gum shield and a stick, but don’t worry if you don’t have them, we have spares available. You will also need warm clothing and a drink.

Stuart has been involved with Bradford Hockey Club since 1999 and his involvement has increased over the years. During 2016, his commitment to coaching involved him running U16/U18 training one night a week, Mens 1st XI training one night a week, Mens 1st XI matches each Saturday, U16 tournaments on a Sunday morning, as well as indoor training on Sunday and Fridays. Stuart is an inclusive coach who puts time and effort into developing all players to their full potential, instilling both skill and confidence. This year, Stuart’s coaching has led to many players from the club to go on to play at a higher levels, including one junior playing for England at Sainsburys School Games and two U18 selected for the AASE (Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence) and the National Group training squad through England Hockey. Stuart is an outstanding coach who is held in great esteem by all club members and in particular the boys and the men whom he coaches. All of them have a tremendous amount of respect for him due to his inclusive style and his unstinting commitment to the club and the people who play within it.
