Our Junior members are an important part of our Club. BHC are committed to safeguarding and protecting them, working closely with England Hockey and their Safe D Campaign – Safeguarding the Hockey Family. The Club received it’s latest England Hockey ClubsFirst Accreditation in April 2016.
All our club coaches and volunteers are DBS checked and have undertaken safeguarding training. The Club has a dedicated Welfare Officer, who will take any concerns seriously and act on them quickly. Our Welfare Officer can be reached by email on email@example.com.
Junior training for Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 players is held as follows:
- 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm Friday
Training is informal and friendly, and we will go ahead in most weathers (as long as it is safe). Once junior players reach 13, their coach may recommend that they attend the relevant senior training for their skill level:
- 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm Tuesday – General senior and ladies training
- 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm Wednesday – High Performance training
How to get involved
Please feel free to come along to Bradford Girls’ Grammar School between 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm on a Friday evening for a free taster session. You will need shin pads, gum shield and a stick, but don’t worry if you don’t have them, we have spares available. You will also need warm clothing and a drink.
