Unfortunately the pitch is waterlogged and we will be unable to train. Have a nice evening and we hope to see you all next week.
We are holding our Hockeyfest event on Saturday 7 September 2019 from 10.00 am – 5.30 pm. This will also be combined with the Annual Hallas Trophy against our friends from Huddersfield Dragons. Bradford are the current holders of the trophy and it would be good to have lots of support to encourage our Development, 3rd, 2nd and 1st Mens’ teams to keep it in our safe hands. We have also invited Huddersfield Dragon’s Ladies for a friendly game against Bradford Ladies team.
There will also be refreshments and a barbecue, plus hockey and other activities, lucky dip, tombola, bottle on a string to name but a few. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible to what we hope is a cracking start to the season.
We are also on the lookout for helpers, both before the event and on the day, plus donations of bottles and tombola prizes.
We will also have a club hockey ball amnesty, with a reward for any balls returned, and we are also looking for donations of unwanted sticks and shinpads, again donations will be rewarded …
More information will be posted as plans are firmed up, but any offers of help would be useful, so we know what gaps we need to fill nearer the time.
We hope you can join us …
Many of you will have picked on our recent sad news that Phil Thomas, a huge contributor and great servant to hockey at BHC and across Yorkshire, passed away earlier this week of myeloma, a form of blood cancer. Phil had been part of Bradford HC since 1969 as a player, captain, coach, welfare officer and fixture secretary. He was a pioneer of youth hockey here at Bradford and a driving force behind the creation of the Yorkshire Youth Hockey League in the early 1990s. His skill, dedication and enthusiasm for the game has benefitted many generations of young people over the years, and he was the the first entrant into the BHC Hall of Fame at our recent 125th Anniversary celebrations. He will be fondly remembered and hugely missed. We will post details of services for Phil when they are to hand.

There will be a barbecue available, the proceeds of which go to charity, and other refreshments will also be available. Last year this event was very well attended, with four teams participating, and we hope that this year it will be even bigger and better.
This event takes place on the same day to the 125th Anniversary and Senior Awards Dinner, so why not make a day of it?

Sorry folks, but training is cancelled tonight due to a waterlogged pitch.
BCB Radio recently spent some time at BHC Junior training talking to volunteers, juniors and parents, which was then broadcast on 28 July 2018. It’s a really interesting piece on Bradford Hockey Club, with contributions from Stuart, Richard and David, and the interviews with the kids are brilliant.

First of all thank you to all our sponsors for the 2017/18 season, which saw exciting promotions and successes for our teams. Your support has been greatly appreciated by both the participants and the management team in particular.
We are now looking to secure sponsorship for the 2018/19 season, and this can take one of many forms:
Matchday sponsors are promoted pitchside on the allocated Saturday, receive a post on that matchday on both our website, and junior and senior facebook pages, and have an ongoing advert on our website on our sponsors page. The cost of this is £25 per matchday, or £80 for four matchdays.
Team sponsorship is available for all our teams at a rate of £100. This will include a post on our website, and junior and senior facebook pages on each day that the team plays, an on-going advert on our website on our sponsors page, and an advert on the specific team page on our website. Any additional promotional requests can be accommodated, on terms to be negotiated.
Sponsors are also invited to support the general work of the club, or you can request to sponsor to a specific aspect of it, terms to be negotiated.
Would you be able to sponsor an aspect of the club, or do you know an individual or company who would be able to do so? If so, please contact Richard Sorton, the Club President, either directly or through any club official, who will make it happen!
We look forward to hearing from you
