Bradford Hockey Club was established in 1894 and is affiliated to the Yorkshire Hockey Association. In October 2005 we were the first hockey club in West Yorkshire to achieve Clubs1st Accreditation from England Hockey. This recognises that Bradford Hockey Club is committed to providing and maintaining a Safe, Effective and Child Friendly club environment and is valid for 3 years. This is now up for renewal and our volunteers are working hard pursuing reaccreditation under the latest England Hockey and Sport Englands guidelines. We are also ClubMark accredited until 2009 - the SportEngland mark of high quality junior clubs.
We are a large, friendly and well established club, and with three senior teams and junior teams at U21, U18, U16, U14, U13, U12, U11 and U10 levels, we have hockey for everybody.
Senior mens training is on Wednesday evenings from 8:00pm-09:30pm for fitness and hockey skills on the astroturf pitch at
Thornton Grammar School.
Junior training for youngsters of all ages is provided. Sad News - Allan Western
It is with great sadness that I announce that after a short illness Allan Western passed away at 2 pm on Tuesday 8th September 2009 at the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope.
Allan was our 3rd XI captain last season. Even at the age of 53 years he was one of our most energetic, committed and enthusiastic players.
There will be a service of Thanksgiving and Committal at 1pm at All Saints Church, Bingley on Thursday 17th September 2009.
His wife Margaret, and sons, Matthew and Charlie, would like to celebrate his life and so there will be an opportunity for friends and family to meet for refreshments after the service at St Lawrence's Church Hall, Otley Road, Eldwick.
Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time and I know that he will be sadly missed by us all.
